PRANTOJON Session at 2nd Conference on Bangladesh Energy Prosperity 2050: Environmental and Social Governance for Just Transition
In this session on 12 December 2024, Mr. Touhedul Islam Shahazada, Executive Director of Prantjon, presented on protecting the local environment and community from the negative impacts of energy projects in Kalapara Upazila of Patuakhali.

The session focused on the essential components of environmental and social governance (ESG) that are pivotal for achieving a just transition to a sustainable future. This session will examine how ESG frameworks can ensure that the transition to renewable energy and sustainable practices is equitable and inclusive, benefiting all segments of society.
The 2nd Conference on Bangladesh Energy Prosperity (BEP) 2050 is a flagship platform to shape the future of Bangladesh’s energy and power sector. With a vision to achieve 40% renewable energy by 2041, the conference emphasizes reducing reliance on fossil fuels and imports by investing in local renewable energy industries. It aligns national energy policies with global climate commitments while promoting economic stability and energy security.
